Our Story

“Navagio” is the Greek word for shipwreck, a tribute to Santorini’s maritime legends.

This local, family-owned neoclassical home overlooks the caldera, inviting travelers to drop anchor and savor world-class cocktails in a setting where history meets horizon.

A true island bar, born from the sea, the people, and the stories that have travelled through Santorini for generations.

Dating back to the 1850s

Navagio is located in Imerovigli, Santorini, along the central Caldera pathway, inside a neoclassical building dating back to the 1850s, overlooking the volcano and the Aegean — a place where the sea breeze, the island, and its stories have met for decades.

The Renieris Family Store

Before it became a bar, the space operated as the Renieris family grocery store. In the evenings, the whole village would gather outside. People would sit for hours, drink, unwind, and exchange stories about the sea, their journeys, and island life.

That’s where it all began.

Where lost ships find the finest spirits

In 2018, the space came back to life. Not with the intention of becoming something big, but simply as a place made for us, our friends, and the kind of nights we never wanted to end too early.

Where Lost Ships Find the Finest Spirits

Over the years, Navagio became a meeting point for people from all over the world, as well as for those who still experience Santorini from within.
